Public Health Project Plan (Individual)
Guide
Length – 2500 words (+/- 10%) excluding executive summary and appendices of references, program logic map, timeline (GANNT chart), budget and stakeholder matrix).
Students are required to take the public health intervention or project that was presented for the group oral presentation that they were part of and develop a detailed Public Health Project Plan for that same idea. Students are not to deviate from the project idea that was pitched from the group oral presentation and are required to include the executive summary that was produced for oral presentation at the start of this detailed Public Health Project Plan. A guide for key aspects of the project plan related to this assignment is below. Students are expected to cover each of these areas in the written assignment, but these components do not need to be in the same sequential order as outlined in this guide. Also, depending on the nature of the proposed project, some aspects may not be as relevant to the selected case study and project and therefore only brief responses addressing these points may be required.
Please remember that health and social care programs are most effective when they are:
Co-designed with both the service providers and consumers and respond to the specific needs of the target communities,
Built on existing services and acknowledge what has happened previously in the community,
Are affordable and build on existing services and models,
Sustainable and part of a longer-term theory of change, and
Tailored to the specific characteristics of the targeted community and their geographic location.
