1.
LUBS1795 The Contemporary Business Environment
100% Assignment
Assignment Details: 100% of this module is assessed via coursework. In 2,500 words
you are required to produce an analytical report on a company of your choice who are
on the London Stock Exchange or New York Stock Exchange (except for Apple, Croda,
and M&S; do NOT select these as I am going to use them heavily in class as examples).
Using four out of the six topics introduced in the module, critically evaluate the company
against those criteria, and decide whether you would buy shares in it. In doing so, you
will actively incorporate gen AI and critically evaluate its suggestions.
This assignment is categorised GREEN for use of GenAI: the use of material generated
by Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is a required component of this assignment, in the
manner articulated in the brief. Note that you MAY NOT use GenAI to write the sections
required to be written by yourself.
Please make sure you follow university policy by using Microsoft CoPilot on campus (or
whilst logged into campus VPN) so that your work is protected under our license.
Please take the following steps:
1.Ask gen AI if it would buy shares of the company of your choice in respect to the
four selected topics out of six.
e.g., would you buy shares of company A considering its macro and micro
business environment?
Feel free to modify the questions you ask to increase the quality of the answer
you get.
a.Repeat the same step for the remaining three topics, while changing the
prompt accordingly. For example, the next question you may want to ask gen
AI would be, for example, if you chose the ‘measures of success’: would you

buy shares of company A considering its financial performance?
2.Start building your report by using the answers given by gen AI. You are allowed
to copy and paste the answers from AI with proper citation
(https://library.leeds.ac.uk/referencing-examples/9/leeds-harvard/1187/
generative-artificial-intelligence ), but you need to decide which part of the
answer will be included (you may want to focus on what is more relevant to the
course materials/flowing well with your argument). For better quality (e.g., better
flow, smooth transitioning), you may want to add your own words.
3.I assume now you have four sections of your report ready with the help of gen AI.
a.Move these four AI-based sections to Appendix [It is NOT included in
2,500 words]
b.Pick TWO among these four topics that you want to investigate further. In
Appendix, briefly explain why you selected these two specific areas.
4.Re-write analysis of these two areas in your own words. You MAY NOT use Gen
AI assistance to help write the content of all of the sections (Infographic
executive summary, introduction of the company, two re-written areas, and two
reflections).
For the final report (including in 2,500 words), on top of Infographic executive
summary and a brief introduction of the company, you will have four sections
consisting of (a) two re-written areas and (b) two reflections for each of the re-
written areas.
(a)To re-write 2., you may want to take a critical approach and consider the
following points, but more:
If gen AI is mentioning some events or facts, did they really occur or are
relevant? If the information is not specific, make it specific (e.g., what
specific regulations? what specific legal challenges?), identify sources. If
gen AI provided some sources, cross-check those by reading the content.
What written by gen AI is accurate/correct based on what we learnt in this
module/discussed in course materials? If the information turns out to be
accurate, try to strengthen the argument (e.g., Are there any points highly
relevant to the selected topic but not mentioned by gen AI? Is there
anything that you want to add to strengthen the argument?). If it is not,
identify the part deemed to be inaccurate and amend it with supporting
evidence.
Always keep in mind why you are doing the analysis of your company: to
decide whether you would buy shares in it. Your conclusions should align
with the analysis of your assignment company and consistent throughout.
Your report will detail your analysis and explain your investment decision.
(b)After each of re-written areas, add a section that includes your personal
reflection on your re-writing process/experience. That means, you will have a
section of a re-written area followed by a section of your reflection on re-

writing that specific area (x2). In doing so, you may want to consider the
following points, but more: What did you do to make the quality of the AI-
written answer better? What did AI do particularly well or poorly? What would
you do if you were at work and using AI to write a report? What did you learn
throughout?
Format: The report should be written in a business rather than an academic style, and
can include headings, subheadings, and bullet points. It can also make use of the visual
presentation of data via images, graphs, tables, and infographics. It should be concise,
readable, and professionally presented.
Word count: The word count for this assignment is 2,500 words. As with other
assignments, you can go under the word count, but you cannot go over it. The word
count is deliberately low. This is to encourage you to think about how to convey
information as concisely as possible.
The word count includes everything except for the assignment title, front cover, contents
page (if you choose to include one), the reference list, and appendices. Words in
graphs/images count, as do the citations for these.
Submission date: The deadline for your report to be submitted on Turnitin is
Wednesday 14
th
May 2025 at 12.00 Noon.
Use of Generative AI (GREEN category):
Specifically, in this assignment, the required GenAI component is output from your four
topic-related prompts, that should be placed in the appendix. Use Co-Pilot to generate
these sections. This exercise requires that you reflect seriously on what you want to
achieve (and what is superfluous), in order to create accurate and appropriate prompts
to Co-Pilot. You must check over Co-Pilot’s output and amend and reflect when you do
your re-writing of two of the sections. As well as reflecting on your aims, it is a good
opportunity to develop skills of GenAI use, reflexive practice and editing.
Specifically for the rest of the assignment, you MAY NOT use GenAI assistance to
help write the content of all of the sections (Infographic executive summary, introduction
of the company, two re-written sections, and two reflection sections). As these test the
learning outcomes of the module, it’s important to demonstrate what you can do. These
sections must all be created by you, and reflect your own thinking and learning.
You MAY use GenAI (if you wish) for help background research and in improving your
expression in English. These tasks are necessary to complete the assignment, but are
not specifically part of the marking. Note you may NOT ask Co-Pilot to create content or
write things for you, other than the tasks specified above.
Also remember that you retain responsibility for what you hand in; Co-Pilot is susceptible
to errors, so always check over anything where you’ve used GenAI, and reference every

instance of GenAI use in your assignment.
Finally, please note that these instructions are particular to this assignment. Other
assignments will have different instructions for which parts you may and may not use
GenAI for. Not all Green assignments will be the same.
Remember to reference your use of GenAI as well as your literature sources.

Assignments should be a maximum of 2,500 words in length.
All coursework assignments that contribute to the assessment of a module are subject to a word limit,
as specified on the assessment brief. The word limit is an extremely important aspect of good
academic practice, and must be adhered to. Unless stated otherwise in the relevant module
handbook (if one has been provided), the word count includes EVERYTHING (i.e. all text in the main
body of the assignment including summaries, subtitles, contents pages, tables, supportive material
whether in footnotes or in-text references) except the main title, reference list and/or bibliography and
any appendices. It is not acceptable to present matters of substance, which should be included in the
main body of the text, in the appendices (“appendix abuse”). It is not acceptable to attempt to hide
words in graphs and diagrams; only text which is strictly necessary should be included in graphs and
diagrams.
You are required to adhere to the word limit specified and state an accurate word count on the cover
page of your assignment brief. Your declared word count must be accurate, and should not mislead.
Making a fraudulent statement concerning the work submitted for assessment could be considered
academic malpractice and investigated as such. If the amount of work submitted is higher than that
specified by the word limit or that declared on your word count, this may be reflected in the mark
awarded and noted through individual feedback given to you.
The deadline date for this assignment is 12:00:00 noon on Wednesday 14
th
May 2025.
An electronic copy of the assignment must be submitted to the Assignment Submission area within the
module resource on the Blackboard MINERVA website no later than 12:00:00 noon prompt on the
deadline date.
Faxed, emailed or hard copies of the assignment will not be accepted.
Failure to meet this initial deadline will result in a reduction of marks, details of which can be found at
the following place:
