Short Answer Questions (SAQs)
Each SAQ should be about 500 words long ie approximately 1 page. It is ideal to reference this work and also if you want you can add a general bibliography. You must answer all 3 SAQs. I highly recommend you do the reading/listening to the relevant uploaded content before you attempt to answer the SAQ related to that topic.

SAQ1: due week 7: Monday midnight 14th April
1. Jonas, a 19-year-old MSM (man who has sex with men) comes to see you in your clinic. He is concerned that he may have been at risk of a sexually transmitted infection. He is not on PrEP.
a. Document the sexual history you need to obtain from Jonas.
b. With reference to widely accepted guidelines (eg STIGMA, MSHC, Australian STI guidelines) on testing MSM for STIs, what STI and BBV tests should be done
c. What should you tell Jonas about HIV prevention?
SAQ 2: due week 9: Monday midnight 5th May
2. Your local secondary school asks you to give a talk on Chlamydia trachomatis to a group of 16 year old boys and girls in a health class.
a. Write a list of the most important points about Chlamydia trachomatis that you will cover.
b. Janey (16 year old cis female) asks you if her partner can be treated without seeing a doctor. Explain PDPT to the class and highlight why it’s important with regards chlamydia control.
SAQ 3: due week 9: Monday midnight 5th May
3.1 Discuss the contraceptive choices you would want to discuss with the following women. State why some methods may not be suitable and state what you would suggest as the most suitable method given the information you have (you can use a table if that’s easiest).
Olivia is 35 years old and smokes 30 cigarettes a day and has no intention of giving up. She has 2 children and may want another child at some stage in the future and Christina who is 22 years old with no relevant past medical history. Her blood pressure is 120/80.
3.2 What is unmet need for contraception? State 5 factors acknowledged as important influencers of unmet need.
