We have talked about actual business acquisitions in this course.

This is what I want you to explore and discuss.

I want you to identify a recent acquisition (basically anything after Jan 1, 2024)

The analysis should revolve around who the acquirer is and why they made the purchase. Some insight into the Day 1 accounting --the Acquisition equation for instance. And also some discussion of the Day 2 impact/requirements. Anything insightful with a link back to accounting will be rewarded. What will not be rewarded (not much anyway) is saying Company A is the acquirer and they have to consolidate from this date on...

The rules:

Summarize your findings/discussion in the body of an email only--no attachments or references needed

Be concise but clear--ensure you have not just summarized the situation--ensure you have added value

I recommend you get pre-approval on the acquisition you wish to analyze from me before spending time on the analysis.
