FINS5547 Presentation - History of Money Due: 10pm AEST, Sunday the 29th September 2024 1 You are to work individually or in groups of 2-3 students to record and present a 5 minute long presentation on one of the deprecated currencies listed below. You should seek to briefly describe why this form of money was first issued, any interesting or novel features that it may have, and its subsequent collapse. You should explain in your opinion whether the collapse was due to the inherent structure of the currency, due to the management of the currency (centralised or otherwise), both, or neither. You should then consider whether or not bitcoin would have resolve the issues that led to the dep- recation of this form of currency. Some ideas that you may wish to consider include the issuance, backing, liquidity, fungibility, and centralisation of the currency. Not all of these concepts may be relevant to the currency that you select. Your video submission should last no longer than 5 minutes. One of your group members should submit your video to moodle and mention each of the group members. The topics you should consider include: • The Collapse of the Huizi (China 1100-1200s) • The Deprecation of the Tally Stick (Europe, Medieval to 1800s) • The Removal of Bank Issued Notes (United States of America, 1800s-1900s)

Did not submit or barely attempted to answer the proposed question. No apparent structure or visual consistency. The slide may look like several different pieces of work combined at the last minute. No transitions between speakers. Slides are confusing, distracting, and/or irrelevant. This may be through any combination of too much text, poor choice/presentation of visual elements, poor colour and contrast choices, and font size. Presentation simply regurgitates content exactly as it is presented in the report without considering the target audience. Key takeaways and higher-level insights are not emphasised at all. Speaks much too quickly or slowly and/or is unclear to the point of the audience struggling to understand main points. Reads from a script in a monotone with poor eye contact/eyes only moving across a script and does not employ expressive features of any description. Does not appear to consider target audience at all, presenting overly simple, complex, or technical explanations. Presentation was lacking in details, was unclear or not engaging. The work did not show any critical analysis and was purely descriptive. Presentation is reasonably well structured with some signposting and uses consistent for- matting features, e.g. a suitable template with mostly consistent fonts and colours, indi- cating good collaboration. Transitions between speakers are present but may not always be smooth. Slides support the message overall rather than distracting from it with too much text or confusing visuals. Presentation emphasises some higher-level insights but does also provide some detail that is less relevant to the audience. Speaks mostly clearly at a reasonable pace. Varies facial and voice expression to some extent, perhaps with some gestures. May rely on more notes, but overall maintains rea- sonable eye contact and a fairly natural tone. Simplifies some complex ideas to suit the audience. The work adequately explained the history of the currency, and gives a supported opinion. Presentation is logically structured with clear signposting and uses consistently effective visual formatting features, e.g. subheadings, font and colour schemes/template, polished graphics etc, indicating excellent collaboration. Transitions are smooth and speakers refer back and forth to one another throughout the presentation. Slides actively enhance the message, making it easier to understand with sleek, professional and concise text and visuals. Presentation emphasises key takeaways and higher-level insights tailored to the audience. Speaks confidently, clearly, and at a steady pace. Engages the audience by using expres- sion shown through areas like voice, gestures and face. Is evidently not reading from a script and uses excellent eye contact. Simplifies complex concepts and explanations to ensure suitability to audience. 0 - 8 2 ?? 9 - 15 16 - 20 51作业君版权所有
