Final Assignment

This assignment has been created as part of the bridging module assessment for School of Architecture, Building and Design. The aims are the development of an advanced understanding of building construction procedures and building construction processes. Then, to critically evaluate construction technology in the context of current issues being faced in the construction industry.

This is achieved by the critical evaluation of a case study, in regard to scenario base construction practices and application of construction technology in the construction industry. The course is delivered by a mixture of taught in Part 1 to Part 4 of the self-pace study learning environment. The final assignment is assessed by examination which is based on the work completed within the time frame given for the self-pace study period.

You are required to prepare an essay to analyse building construction and nature problems systematically and synthesise a simple solution.

Your essay should include (but not limited to) the following: -

To carry out a case study on a building construction activity of a project. E.g. Piling work, Structural work, Roof work or etc. (on site investigation OR on desk investigation is acceptable)

Identify the problem(s) of the building construction activity.

Debate the correct procedure, method of construction or solution require, to ensure the building construction activity success.

Your essay shall be at least 1500 – 5000 words.
