Assessment Description
The purpose of this assessment is to take the solution concept which has evolved from your training or business
needs analysis and been validated as a viable product and create a business plan to take that solution to market.
The business plan should consist of three documents:
1. Business model canvas
2. Product roadmap
3. Prototype development and deployment plan
The content of these documents will result from considering the concepts presented in the Module B topic lectures
and activities and by addressing the questions raised throughout Module B. When creating your documents be sure
to follow the expected conventions of professional practice or the discipline you are working within ie use of
appropriate visual communication techniques such as infographics, diagrams, graphs, visual aids etc.
How to Complete this Assessment
1. Considering the industry your proposed immersive technology and/or simulation environment is situated
in, research one or more appropriate business model canvas approaches. Selecting one of models,
develop a planned, worked example of a business model canvas that clearly defines your project.
2. The next step to bringing your project into reality is to prepare a product roadmap. The roadmap is
designed to allow all involved to share the plan, see what is intended to be done and by when, state clearly
what is being built by who and when and identify any critical dependencies are. The roadmap should
contain:
a. vision and strategy.
b. product definition
c. timelines and milestones
d. goals and measures
e. VR/AR/MR development activities
3. Develop a prototype evaluation plan with a list of pivot criteria for Go/No Go decisions. The plan should
define the construct of the prototype and specific features to be exercised and evaluated. The prototype

plan should define specific features of function and fidelity/realism that are to be included and why. The
plan should define the test mechanism and reporting structure. How will test data be analysed? List in
priority the key success criteria and decision points to proceed or revert back to rework.
Course Learning Outcomes addressed in this task
1. Assess the relative benefits and values of immersive technologies and simulation environments for different
levels of scalability.
2. Critically scope project requirements to understand management implications in the effective use and
procurement of an immersive system.
How you will receive Feedback for this task
Feedback will be provided on a regular basis via your instructor and peers. Summative assessment and feedback
will be provided with 14 days of submission.

The business plan is
conventional but there
are aspects of
innovation with
relevant industry
practice.
The business plan
displays elements of
creativity, but this is
fragmented or not
explored fully. The
project contains
elements of originality

innovative within
relevant industry
practice.
A creative approach is
present within the
business plan, and it is
justified. It is mostly
original but relies on
some conventions; it is
nonetheless innovative
within relevant industry
practice.
An individual response
to the identified
problem is present and
justified. There is
strong evidence of
significant exploration
and experimentation
followed by reflection
and innovation. The

challenges
conventions and does
so effectively within
relevant industry
practices.
