with their supervisor. Topics may also be provided,

supporting staff interests or related to the needs of a

'client' associated with a member of staff. Each

student will be required to submit a project proposal

for approval by the project supervisor.

For projects in a specialist area, a staff member other

than the project supervisor may be the "resident

consultant". The "resident consultant" will provide

expertise on the students project subject. Project

assessment, however, will remain with the project

supervisor.

The topic area of the project will be chosen so that the

including any software developed as part of the project.

The Project will be assessed on the written project and the delivered information systems product if

appropriate. The project report, including the software deliverable if any, will be marked by the supervisor.

In addition, a student may be required to make an oral presentation of the project. The oral presentation

will not be marked. It will be used to confirm that the work presented in the project was that of the student,

to clarify points of concern in the project, and to moderate individual marks across the student cohort (if any).
