You must start this exam at the time published in your Sussex Direct Timetable.
You are required to type your final answers into text boxes on Canvas. It is strongly recommended that you draft and save your answers in Word and then copy and paste into Canvas. This way, your answers will not be lost in case of technical issues.
You have 2 hours to complete AND submit the exam (note that Sussex Direct will only show the work time of the exam in your Assessment Timetable).
Allow enough time to ORGANISE, SAVE, and SUBMIT. Do not leave the uploading/submission to the last minutes. It may result in you missing the deadline and having to do a resit.
If you have extra time due to Reasonable Adjustments this is already added to your exam on Canvas, and you will see a different deadline to the one below.
After the exam end time you will NOT be able to submit because the Canvas link will have expired. If you fail to submit by the deadline/exam end time, your exam grade will be ZERO.

You MAY access all Canvas materials related to the module as well as the chapters in textbooks listed in the reading list. You MAY NOT access any other online material including Chat GPT or translation software. Violations will be treated as academic misconduct. You must complete this assessment on your own and in your own words. DO NOT discuss this assessment with others during the exam. By submitting this assessment you confirm that your assessment includes no instances of academic misconduct, for example plagiarism or collusion. Any instance of academic misconduct will be thoroughly investigated in accordance with our academic misconduct regulations.

Guidance for students regarding submission issues:
If you are unable to take/complete your exam due to a sudden and unforeseen situation, follow the guidance on Exceptional Circumstances. This will not allow you to submit late, but depending on if you meet the criteria, you may be offered an uncapped resit.
Be aware that technical issues are not accepted criteria for Exceptional Circumstances claims.
If you have completed your exam but experience issues submitting your exam, (such as a problem with Canvas/connectivity), email the school office at [email protected] within 15 minutes* of the exam end time, with your solution file; You must provide your answer file and this file must not have been modified after Exam has closed. It is recommended that Word files which include images or screen shots are saved as PDF to retain formatting before submitting.
*If you have an issue that prevented you from contacting us within the 15-minute timeframe, such as an internet provider issue that required the attendance of a service provider, the Directors of Teaching and Learning may consider your case if notified by midnight (UK Time) on the day of submission. However, in order to consider your case, at a minimum they will need a copy of your work saved as a pdf file, unedited past the end time of the exam, plus clear evidence of the issue you experienced. They will then consider your case and make a decision at their discretion, on whether the exam will be accepted.
