Assignment 1
You are required to write a short survey report on the fintech landscape of a specific country, or a city if the size of its fintech ecosystem is big enough. This assignment contributes 1 5% of the overall assessment of this course.
You should take the following steps to research on your survey report using a generative AI LLM (large language model) tool such as ChatGPT and research papers available in the library/Internet:
1. State your role (such as a banker, a technologist, an investor, a regulator, etc.) and ask for a suggested framework to describe a fintech ecosystem
2. Look for unfamiliar words in the result supplied by an LLM tool and identify unfamiliar words
3. Research on the meaning of those unfamiliar words
4. Further conduct literature search in the library / Internet to find additional suggestions
on the framework
5. Research and collect data based on the framework supplied by an LLM model
The report should be written in English with around 2,500 words. It should at least consist of the following items:
1. The country / city being researched
2. The role from whose perspective the report is written
3. The history of fintechs in the chosen country / city
4. The scope of the work of the fintechs, i.e. what area(s) of business
5. Involvement of government and private sector in setting up and growing of the fintech ecosystem
6. Market size of fintechs
7. Maturity of the fintechs
8. The framework with which you are using to describe the fintech ecosystem
9. Details of the analysis using the said framework
10. Etc.
