ISOM 1005 – INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND INFORMATION
FINAL PROJECT
DUE DATE AND TIME: APRIL 27, 2023
Digital Dashboard for Data Visualization Requirements:
1. This is an individual project that should be submitted to the UMMoodle independently.
2. Submit both your database and your dashboard files to the UMMoodle under “Submit Final Project”. Together with a brief summary and a screenshot of your phone in MS Word
a.Save your database in MS Access as your student number (e.g. bc01234.accdb). b.Publish your dashboard in MS Power BI as your student number (e.g. bc01234.pbix). c. Save your brief summary and screenshot of your phone in MS Word as your student
number (e.g. bc01234.docx).
3. Database part with MS Access:
a.Create a database for an Electronic Company using Microsoft Access based on the information given below.
b.Create the “Sales” and “Customers” tables and enter all the records as shown below. c. Import the “Products” and “Transactions” tables from an external source file named
“Datafile.accdb” from the Ummoodle.
d.Setup all the relationships as shown on the ER-diagram below. e.Save the final database as your student number (see above).
4. DatavisualizationpartwithMSPowerBI:
a.Import the above database file as the data source.
b.Create the visualization part with at least 3 charts/graphs (see samples below) of your
own choice. (Note: they should not be the same as the samples below)
c. Create a slicer to allow filtering on the data (see tutorial notes).
d.Publish the final dashboard to a Power BI desktop file as your student number (see
above).
e.Publish the final dashboard to your mobile phone which should be installed with
Power BI in advance.
f. Take a picture of your mobile phone screen showing your published charts and paste
the screenshot to the MS Word file below.
5. ReportingpartwithMSWord:
a.Write a brief summary to explain what kind of data visualization you have created with MS Power BI (in part 4 above) and what kind of decisions the manager of the company could make based on your dashboard.
Tables in the Database:
The following tables “Sales” and “Customers” are to be created in your MS Access database file named with your student number (see above).

The following tables are available in the Datafile.accdb from the UMMoodle. You may simply import the tables below to your MS Access database file. Please be reminded to create the relationship for your database later.

You are required to create some different visualization graphs/charts of your own choice, and then publish it to a Power BI desktop file and to your mobile phone. Remember to capture the screen of your mobile phone to be pasted to the MS Word report and upload it to the UMMoodle.
