1 You should participate online activity 1 discussion during week 1. Activity 1 due on Sunday 6th Mar. at 9 am AEDST. We will discuss this activity during week 2 classes. Aims of Activity 1: Activity 1 has 2 key aims: Understand the key roles of a BA. Understand functional and non-functional requirements. Discussion Questions: 1. What is the difference between functional and non-functional requirements? Give examples of each type. 2. Please read the following mini case and identify 4 to 6 functional requirements and 2 to 3 non-functional requirements. Patrons have access to the library information to search for book titles and to see whether a book is available. A patron can also reserve a title if all copies are checked out. When patrons bring books to the circulation desk, a clerk checks out the books on a loan. Clerks also check books in. When books are dropped in the return slot, they check in the books. Stocking clerks keep track of the arrival of new books. The managers in the library have their own activities. They will print out reports of book titles by category. They also like to see (online) all overdue books. When books get damaged or destroyed, they will delete information about book copies. Managers also like to see what books are on reserve. They manually login to check as the system does not automatically provide reserved book list on daily basis. Currently, the system is not excellent, but it does the job. Patrons found the online book search is not so easy to use. Managers consider it takes too long to prepare various report. The staff also found that there is no reminder notifications, so they have to check every morning for such as overdue books. You dont need to prepare a formal report on above questions, however, you are required to think about them and share your ideas on the discussion board Activity 1 Discussion Forum section. We will discuss these questions in week 2. Please note that online participation is essential for the unit study. It is not just because we have allocated 10% of the total mark on these activities, but also to understand these activities will help you to comprehend the content and be able to do the online tests and assignments.
