Your task is to evaluate and redesign the company’s existing website. Website Link: http://www.roverp6cars.com/?LMCL=myrpsA You will use and evaluate the website below according to the following design principles Interaction Design Principles Responsive Design Principles Multi-media Design Principles You must submit a portfolio that includes the following activities Task 1: Evaluating Website on Application of Principles (34 Marks) (LO 1,4,5) Evaluate the website considering the application of design principles as listed below. Interaction Design Principles Responsive Design Principles Multi-media Design Principles You are required to cover the following for this task: 1. Three principles of interaction design. For each principle, name and explain the principle, then identify two issues (negative aspects) in the website and make suggestions for improvement for each issue you identified. 2. Two principles of responsive design. For each principle, name and explain the principle, then identify one issue (negative aspect) in the website and make suggestions for improvement for the issue you identified. 3. Two principles of multi-media design. For each principle, name and explain the principle, then identify one issue (negative aspect) in the website and make suggestions for improvement the issue you identified. Task 2: Prototype Design and Demonstration (46 Marks) (LO 1,4,5) Apply interactive, responsive and multimedia design principles you have learnt in this course. Propose a new design and create a prototype for the website you have evaluated in activity 1. Your prototype must improve the usability and user experience of MGDB Parts and services website, and your submission must include 3 webpages (home page must be included, covering all critical homepage elements). 2.1 Considering the suggestions from Task 1, create Wireframes for the chosen pages (at least 3 including home page) using a tool of your choice- (images, pdf, screenshot or video recording of wireframes can be provided) Each page should have at least 3 design considerations. 2.2 Now using these wireframes, create prototype for the new website using a tool of your choice. (remember that you have to create at least 3 pages.) 2.3 For each of the 3 webpages that you created, list at least 3 of the improvements/modifications you have made to the initial website design (at least 9 in total). Also justify why you chose to modify these elements? 2.4 Present your prototype in class to the tutor and other students. You will be justifying your selected design elements. Task 3: Prototype Evaluation (20 Marks) (LO 3) List 4 usability evaluation criteria and discuss how and where you have covered each criterion in your prototype, you must demonstrate you have used each criterion twice. You may consider any relevant criteria of Nielsen’s Heuristic Evaluation or Schneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design.
