Incentives to stay in the course and to study for the Final Exam include what we call "Second Chance". This policy does not apply to an exam submission that violated the Academic Integrity Policies and was reported to the University. • The Final Exam is cumulative—everyone has to take the entire exam. Part 1 will be on Exam 1 Material: 45-minute time limit Part 2 will be on Exam 2 Material: 65-minute time-limit Part 3 will be on material taught after Exam 2 material (only one chance for this): 70-minute time limit • The entire exam counts as the Final Exam grade. • If the student scores higher on Part 1 of the Final Exam than he/she scored on Exam 1 the Exam 1 score will be replaced by the higher Final Exam Part 1 score. • If the student scores higher on Part 2 of the Final Exam than he/she scored on Exam 2 the Exam 2 score will be replaced by the higher Final Exam Part 2 score. • Not taking Exam1 results in an exam grade of 0. If the student received a zero (0) score on Exam 1, the Second Chance Policy will not be applied toward this missed exam. Scores on the missed Exam will remain a zero (0). • Not taking Exam 2 results in an exam grade of 0. If the student received a zero (0) score on Exam 2, the Second Chance Policy will not be applied toward this missed exam. Scores on the missed Exam will remain a zero (0). • Scores only “flow” from the Final Exam to Exam 1 and Exam 2 (not vice versa). The Second Chance Policy has no affect the Final Exam, but provides the opportunity for improved scores on Exam 1 and Exam 2.
