Project • Present your findings in Student Pages on Sulis presentation • 2,000 words • See below for more details Due Week 3 (Friday) Week 5 (Friday) Week 7 (Friday) Week 11 (Friday) What needs to be included: 1. Project draft (500-800 words) – due in Week 3 • Identify which of our four themes your study will be located in; • Specify in more detail the focus or case study you are going to research within this theme; • Why is your idea interesting? • What are the aims and objectives of your study (think about expected results; What do you want to see accomplished by your work? What do you want to find out and show? • Is your project feasible? What determines whether a project is feasible? 3. Project proposal in the form of a video presentation using Powerpoint and Panopto – due in Week 7 • Briefly summarise your project idea • Explain how you have dealt with feedback you received from peers • Read at least 2 articles connected to your case/topic(see Sulis for suggestions), summarise main points and discuss how they are connected to your own study • Refer to and define (using references) key concepts covered in the lecture • Description your methods: what kind of data or sources will you be using, how are you going to get access to them, how much data will you analyse and how will you analyse the data? 4. Final project presentation (2,000 words max) using Student Pages on Sulis – due in Week 11 Write an article about use virtual ethnography to evaluate the linguistic diversity of Tiktok with the tag "#studyabroad." according to my plan and the tutor's advice. • Present overall topic, present the aims and objectives, briefly describe your case study (briefly! My tutor has already known my case study) and provide some background/context information • Briefly (same as above, briefly) describe the methods you used to research this case • Write up a summary of findings on the case you concentrated on • Connect to the literature you have read and to key lecture concepts • Main points and conclusions – what have you learned? (PS: If possible, please attach any links or images and source of the data in the article. Use Harvard references) Grading Grading of Work The assignments are designed to encourage students to engage with the main themes of the course, while also taking a comprehensive and analytical look at the materials. The assignments will be graded using a detailed rubric which will be made available to the students in Week 2.
