Topic:
In our course, we have emphasised the importance of stress testing for managing
sustainable performance of banks and threats to their financial viability. Based on
your research, this assignment asks you to critically evaluate the role of stress
testing in effective bank management. As part of your research, you may refer to
examples or cases relating to one or more countries. Your evaluation should cover
areas outlined in the structure of the report given below.

The report must contain the following
1. Cover page - including course name, title of report, your full name and student ID.
2. Table of contents
3. Executive summary - A summary of the key findings of your research (about a
page)
4. Introduction - Provide a road map of how the report is structured
5. Body – please use the following headings/themes to organise the body of the
report (you may use subheadings within each of these headings).
i. Justification of the need for stress testing of banks including key lessons from
Global Financial Crisis (GFC) relevant to stress testing
ii. Review of post-GFC approaches/frameworks for stress testing
iii. Evaluation of the effectiveness of post-GFC stress testing
approaches/frameworks discussed in (ii) above
iv. Recommendations for improving stress testing of banks
6. Conclusion - This is not a summary, but a discussion of key implications of the
findings/recommendations of your research/analysis.
7. Bibliography: Please use Harvard referencing system.

5. Maximum 2,000 words. Cover page, table of contents, executive summary and
bibliography are not included in word count. You may exceed the word count by
