Q1. Display technology Comparison TOTAL (15)

For each of the three display technologies –
A. Liquid Crystal (LC), (5)
B. Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) and (5)
C. Electrophoretic1 (EP), (5)
based on current (in 2020) capability

(i) Describe one substantial comparative technical or performance
strength and
(ii) One substantial comparative technical or performance weakness.
(iii) List one application or market in which the combination of strengths
and weaknesses of the technology makes it clearly superior to the
others and
(iv) Explain and justify your selection in (iii) in no more than fifty words.

It may be convenient to present your answer to this question in the form of a
single table with three columns, one for each technology, and a row for each
question (i) to (iv) or in three separate single-column tables labelled A, B and C
respectively.

Total marks (15)
Mark will be scaled and added to the mark of the first assignment. IU.

1. I recommend that you look for external sources in addition to lecture
slides.
2. When you use data from external sources please provide reference
details (e.g., link).
