1- Assume that the perceptually weighted synthetic speech and perceptually weighted
speech vectors be ̂ [] = [ 0.5 0.4 − 0.3 − .4] ̃[] = [0.4 0.3 − 0.2 − 0.4 ],
respectively. What should be the gain of the input to the CELP filter?
2- Given the pitch synthesis filter x[n] = 0.8 x[n-40] + e[n]
a) What is the pitch value?
b) Determine the frequency response of the filter and plot the magnitude response and
determine the peaks of the magnitude response.
3- We use ternary vectors in CELP algorithm as excitation vectors. Assume that we have
the following excitation vector
x[n] = [ 1 -1 -1 -1 0 1 0 0 1 -1]

a) How can we check that x is a realization of white noise?
b) Estimate the spectrum of the vector x using the autocorrelation sequence and plot
the spectrum.
