INFO 3171 Project 1 Summer 2021 Due: 24 June 2022

 In this project you will attempt to find the password in a simulated malware sample. The file is provided and is named reverse-ex. It is an executable file that is designed to simulate some of the basic techniques found in actual malware. The file is safe to download and will not cause harm to your computer. You will need to submit a written report of not less than 5 pages including screen captures, diagrams, tables, and charts. However, the report must contain mostly your written analysis and reports containing only screen captures and diagrams will not be considered acceptable. As a minimum your report will need to cover the follow points: How you plan to discover the password of the simulated malware sample. Methods used. Challenges. What was learned Conclusions This project is to be worked on using information from the lectures, recommended texts, journal articles, and your own research.
